Quality Objectives of Directorate (Research)

1. Preparation of calendar of RAGs
2. To coordinate the conduct of RAGs at Institutes
3. To conduct the RPC Meeting
4. To convey the approval for New Research Projects to Institutes
5. Follow up action for New Research Projects and to convey final approval.

 

In-House Monitoring
Reviewing & Evaluation of all the ongoing Research Projects of ICFRE Institutes and suggest corrective measures for timely completion and achieving the objectives with perfection.

Evaluation by External Expert/Agency
Independent Evaluation of some projects of each Institute through subject matter expert/Agency to assess the extent to which the objectives of the project have been achieved, transfer of technology from lab. to land, if applicable and effectiveness of the project in addressing the research needs of the user groups/ end users.

Climate Change

The Forest and Climate Change Division is carrying out and coordinating the basic and applied research on following aspects of climate change in India:

1. Vulnerability and adaptations of forest ecosystems
2. Mitigation of climate change through forestry activities
3. Greenhouse gas inventories in Forestry sector
4. Socio- economic influences of climate change on forest-based communities
5.Policy research on UNFCCC and Kyoto processes and their implications for India
6.Potential of CDM and REDD-Plus in the country
